Personal Statement
My main research objective is to pave the way for modern real-life health research studies by being at the interface between digital epidemiology, data science and clinical research. I implement comprehensive observational and real-life studies to identify digital biomarkers for remote monitoring key symptoms or patient reported outcomes of patients.
Biographical sketch
I am the Director of the Department of Precision Health at the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), which is composed of 9 research units and where I lead the research activity related to public health and epidemiology. I am also the Head of the Deep Digital Phenotyping Research Unit at LIH. I am a senior research scientist in Digital Epidemiology with a strong expertise in the analysis of large population-based studies using Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods. First trained in Mathematics, I have obtained a double Master's Degree in Statistics and in Epidemiology. I have started to work on digital epidemiology during my PhD on large French and pan-European population-based cohort studies when I was in the Center of Research in Epidemiology and Population Health, the largest research center in public health in France. During my postdoctoral period, I have spent two research stays as a Visiting Scientist and initiated a collaboration still ongoing with the Diabetes and Population Health unit at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
